Logistics Technician
The Logistics Technician must demonstrate the ability and be willing to perform all functions related to receiving and distributing materials. Logistics Technicians are scheduled as required to meet the needs of Stormont-Vail and are cross-trained. Technicians must interact with internal customers on a frequent basis, using tact and diplomacy while communicating clearly and accurately.
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED Required
Experience Qualifications
Logistic, shipping, receiving or delivery experience. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Drivers License - DMV Driver's license only needed if driving duties are assigned, if assigned driver must have clean MVR with 3-year baseline Required
What You Will Do
Receives supplies and equipment deliveries. Accurately checks actual receipts against packing slip and purchase order. Enters receiving information into the Information System rapidly and accurately. Identifies those supplies and equipment to be delivered to customers. Delivers supplies and equipment to customers.
Counts supply areas on schedule as assigned to maintain established par levels. Enters requisitions, fills orders and delivers accurately and rapidly to assigned areas.
Travels to and from delivery site(s) on foot or by vehicle as assigned. Delivers supplies, medications, blood, specimens, documents, films and equipment to customers. Loads equipment, boxes of supplies and other goods into and out of vans.
Sorts and delivers USPS mail and Inter-office mail daily. Lifts and carries large containers of mail. Able to operate letter opener, scales. Prepares outgoing mail for USPS mail processing vendor and maintains logs on charges to appropriate internal account number. Locates address in records and forwards discharged patient mail.
Answers phones and logs details of each request. Communicates tasks to fellow Logistics staff providing them full details to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks. As needed prioritizes tasks unless redirected by supervisory staff. In the absence of Supervisor, contacts PRN staff for coverage as needed.
Performs cycle counts.
Communicates process or product problems immediately to Manager.
Travel Requirements
50% Travel between facilities as necessary.
