Specialist Quality Control
Location: Holly Springs, NC 27540 (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (potential extension)

DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of digital tools for the Quality Control (QC) laboratory. The role resides within the QC Systems group and reports to the Manager of Digital Laboratory Systems.
This position will partner with stakeholders across all QC functions (e.g., Chemistry, Microbiology, Bioassay) as well as cross‑functional teams to understand laboratory processes, data flows, and system interactions. The individual will translate business and operational needs into scalable digital solutions that improve data visibility, metrics reporting, and process efficiency.
This role will focus on enabling data‑driven decision‑making through development of dashboards, reporting tools, and automation solutions, while ensuring alignment with QC processes, compliance requirements, and enterprise data strategies.
This position will be expected to adhere to established procedures (Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions) and maintain compliance with cGMP requirements, including documentation and data integrity practices where applicable.
This position will work in a highly collaborative environment, communicating progress, identifying risks, and ensuring delivery of digital initiatives that enhance QC performance and operational insight.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced experience using Power BI in an enterprise environment ideally with experience utilizing a broad spectrum of.
Experience using SQL in enterprise data platforms such as Databricks. Experience with Python programming is a plus.
Experience developing automation solutions using Microsoft Power platform (e.g. Power Automate)
Experience with SharePoint development and/or administration
Understanding of Quality Control laboratory processes (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Bioassay)
Familiarity with quality systems and processes such as Deviations, Lab Investigations, CAPA, trending, and material control
Experience working in a biopharmaceutical or regulated environment
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and application to laboratory data
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree OR Masters degree and 2 years of experience OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience OR Associates degree and 8 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience
TOP 3 MUST HAVE SKILL SETS
5 YOE post graduation
Advanced business intelligence and data visualization experience (Power BI or Spotfire preferred in an enterprise environment)
Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured data environments
Communication skills with proven track record of translating stakeholder requirements into digital solutions
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with QC functional groups and cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements and understand laboratory processes and data flows
Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools that provide insights into QC performance and key metrics
Develop and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data accessibility
Translate business needs into technical solutions using enterprise tools such as Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, and related platforms
Support integration and alignment of QC systems with broader enterprise data architecture
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data integrity and regulatory expectations
Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance digital capabilities within QC
