This standard is achieved through obtaining ample market data and pricing, sourcing the best possible prices, and assessing execution quality across Equity, Options, and Fixed Income products. The Best Execution Analyst works under the direction of the Best Execution Managers and Best Execution & Controls Team Leader to apply SEC, FINRA, MSRB, and CIRO rules through technical and analytical means. This role focuses on reviewing trading data, producing execution‑quality analysis, and communicating findings that support firm standards and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Basic knowledge of US and Canadian equity, options, and fixed income Capital Markets, regulatory frameworks, rules and guidance (i.e. SEC, FINRA, MSRB, and CIRO) and their impact on Edward Jones' business

Review trades on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis across Equity, Options, and Fixed Income asset classes to assess execution quality in accordance with Best Execution, Reg NMS, Fair Pricing, Prevailing Market Price, and related regulatory standards.

Prepare, monitor, and maintain execution‑quality reports and systems used by Best Execution Managers and Trading leadership for supervisory purposes. (e.g., price improvement, execution speed, fill rates, fair‑pricing metrics)

Develop and maintain working knowledge of trading datasets (e.g., execution quality, pricing, routing) to support analysis and responses from Trading Leadership, Legal, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders.

Extract, cleanse, and manipulate firm trading data using analytical and statistical tools to support monitoring, reporting, and trading inquiries.

Identify execution anomalies or data concerns and elevate findings to Best Execution Managers or Trading Leadership for action.

Create clear and cohesive data‑driven narratives that communicate execution outcomes and trends to Trading and Best Execution stakeholders.

Provide actionable insights to support trading decisions, through data manipulation and data visualization of large volume trading datasets to identify patterns/trends/insights

Support regulatory exams, audits and governance reviews, including documentation and investigative support Trading, Legal, Compliance, and Audit

Drive improvement for the firm's best execution processes, controls, and reporting for efficiency gains and changes to market structure.

Skills/Requirements

Bachelor's degree

Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience

Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, must acquire 57 within first 6 months

Basic knowledge of U.S. and Canadian equity, options, and fixed‑income capital markets

Foundational understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting Best Execution.

FINRA Rules 5310 and 2121

MSRB Rules G‑13 and G‑30

CIRO regulatory standards

Experience working with large datasets and conducting data analysis

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and chart creation

Ability to independently complete assigned work and consistently meet deadlines

Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with trading stakeholders and business partners

Ability to prioritize work across multiple security types, trading initiatives, strategy objectives, and business groups

Ability to identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational improvements

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
