
Shipping & Receiving Associate

Shipping/Receiving Position
Responsible for shipping/receiving functions as assigned including but not limited to; kitting, shipping, part-marking, part packaging, receiving, posting PO's, delivering shipments to customers/vendors, and inventory cycle counting. Valid driver's license without limitations or restrictions required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with all internal and external customers
Navigates a fast paced environment with extreme accuracy and attention to detail
Prioritizes daily work load and coordinates with Manager to ensure dept. goals are met
Completes systematic transactions accurately
Ability to research and resolve transactions
Ensures inventory accuracy physically and systematically for products on work orders, in stock, or shipping to customer
Identifies, documents, and issues the proper inventory number and batch number from stock
Communicates with other departments to resolve issues with product and/or paperwork
Understands part mark cards, packaging standards, and packaging technique cards
Communicates with vendors regarding shipments or deliveries
Utilizes forklift to load, unload, move, or stack materials in a safe manner
Package, Un-package and physically move product
Understands packaging standards to ensure safe transit of product
Assists with the internal/external transportation of product
Generates purchase orders for outside processing and outside manufacturing
Creates packing slips with supporting documentation for all product shipping to the customer
Creates accurate manifests, ASN's, and other shipping documents
Performs accurate shipments in courier specific websites, such as UPS, Fed Ex, etc.
Requests maintenance on company fleet while maintaining safety check sheet
Verifies and compares manifest to actual box count and ensuring correct delivery location
Maintains and clean and organized work environment
Responsible for the quality of their work and implementation of the quality policy
Makes recommendations to improve processes
Assist other departments in meeting organizational goals as required

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses: Ability to obtain forklift certification
Equipment: Forklift, Pallet jack, Part mark machine, Scanner
Specialized Training: Previous Shipping/Receiving Experience beneficial, MRP or ERP system experience beneficial, Machine shop understanding a plus, Aviation background helpful
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Willingness to apply hands-on approach in supporting activities and to step in when needed, Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful when under pressure, Must be a team player, Quality orientated, must understand requirements of AS9102, Comfort and experience working in a fast-paced environment, Familiarity and working knowledge of general office machines such as fax, copier, printers, and scanners, Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and dedication to supporting customer requirements, Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision, Commitment to work overtime on occasion
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25+ pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
