Description
Genesis Reference Laboratories is currently seeking a Specimen Accessioner (Lab Data Entry) for our Lab in Centennial.
This is a full time-time hourly position working
Tuesday- Saturday
between the hours of
9:00 AM- 5:00 PM .
Previous medical or laboratory experience would be required.
Data entry skills and basic computer knowledge will be required. Previous experience in a production environment or previous specimen handling experience would be helpful.
All of the necessary Personal Protection Equipment will be provided.
Responsibilities
Prepares laboratory specimens (Urine, Stool, Oral and Nasal Swabs) for designated departments prior to laboratory analysis and testing.
Responsible for imputing COVID-19 Specimen data into the database.
Receive and prepare specimens from clinics nation-wide.
Organize route specimens by priority and type to various staging areas.
Input data of each specimens and prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory locations.
Aliquot (pouring) sample to appropriate container for testing.
Arrange excess specimen samples for storage.
Document and inform supervisors in regard to specimen problems and steps to resolve the issue.
Fulfill clinic’s supply requests within a timely manner.
Request nationwide pick up on a shipping carrier platform.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Laboratory: 1 plus year(s)
Ability to Commute
Physical Demands
Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, and moderate physical effort (up to 20 pounds).
