
Quality Control Inspector NJ in Swedesboro

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains West Pak’s quality assurance standards by inspecting, documenting, and approving all incoming fruit, in-process production, finished/packed fruit product, distressed inventory, rejections, outgoing and reporting quality results.
Inspects and approves incoming fruit from various COOs by confirming product specifications, conducting visual and measurements tests, and quarantining unacceptable fruit product.
Documents all quality-related production activities and reports any quality discrepancies to the quality control supervisor. This will include re-packs and/or re-grading for key customers.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-packs and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.
Inspects and approves outgoing fruit following proper inspection procedures, product specifications, transportation requirements, and food safety regulations.
Maintains measurement and testing equipment in operational condition.
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, including compliance with FDA, USDA, and company policies.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational and research opportunities that will lead to personal development and quality process improvement.
Accomplishes quality and organizational missions through task and inspection completions.
Must be willing to work weekends and must be open to working multiple shifts (1st shift/2nd shift/3rd shift).
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years directly related experience in produce/agriculture industry
Working Hours
7:00am to 5:00pm and should be available on Saturdays
Skills
Some experience with information and data analysis
Some experience with reporting, research, and data entry skills
Spanish/English- preferable but not required
Must be computer and Microsoft Office proficient
Must have knowledge of basic math skills and be able to communicate data and information to various stakeholders within the organization
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated with limited supervision
Must be coachable and be attentive to the current workplace rules and procedures.
Must be able to quickly absorb and learn company quality control processes and procedures and be able to demonstrate “good” practices through information retention.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Must be able to walk and stand for most of the shift
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, with or without assistance
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work with sharp objects.
Must be flexible between job tasks and work schedules, especially in the production areas.
