Senior Structured Natural Gas Originator
Location: Houston, TX. Reports to: Vice President of Structured Gas Origination.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, manage deals timely, and proven contract negotiation skills from initiation to execution.
Origination and Deal Structuring:
Identify, develop, and execute structured natural gas transactions, including tolling agreements, storage optimization, transportation deals, basis trades, and other complex commercial arrangements.
Structure bespoke solutions to meet specific risk management and supply requirements of industrial end‑users, power generators, natural gas producers, and other market participants.
Lead the negotiation and execution of contracts, ensuring alignment with risk management policies and commercial objectives.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
Conduct in‑depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and potential opportunities within the North American natural gas market.
Develop and implement origination strategies to expand market share and profitability.
Provide market intelligence and insights to internal stakeholders, including trading, risk management, and legal teams.
Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders such as producers, pipelines, storage operators, and end‑users.
Represent EEMNA at industry events and conferences, building brand awareness and expanding the network.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless deal execution and customer satisfaction.
Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate risks associated with structured transactions, ensuring compliance with risk management framework.
Work closely with risk management teams to develop and implement appropriate hedging strategies.
Monitor and manage the performance of existing transactions, identifying and addressing potential issues.
Represent ENGIE at conferences, client events, and presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 10 years in North American natural gas markets including trading, marketing, origination, and/or structuring.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with commodity derivative products to structure highly complex transactions.
Deep understanding of the North American natural gas market fundamentals, pipeline infrastructure, and regulatory environment.
Excellent commercial instinct and creativity to create commercial value.
Proven track record of originating and executing complex structured transactions.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Established network of industry contacts.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of risk management principles.
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to present to senior executive management.
Collaborative team player with willingness to share knowledge and expertise.
Strong working knowledge of Capital and Project Finance.
Experience in contract negotiations and execution.
