Job Overview
At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Service Manager is responsible for overall customer satisfaction by inspiring and motivating a team committed to providing superior service in a fast‑paced and friendly environment. They lead front‑end operations and oversee the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, driving store sales, team member recruitment, engagement, and retention. The Service Manager proactively prepares work schedules, trains team members, and helps achieve store goals related to sales, labor, margins, and shrink.

Responsibilities

Shape the store culture by modeling leadership behaviors aligned to Sprouts values.

Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring team members provide superior service.

Demonstrate product knowledge when assisting customers.

Listen to and resolve customer complaints in compliance with company standards.

Champion the customer service surveys and portal activity and results.

Maintain a positive attitude, leadership, organization, time‑management skills, and willingness to learn new products.

Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to the team.

Coordinate and execute Team Member Appreciation Week, Team Member of the Month, and other reward and recognition programs.

Organize in‑store hiring events and build a candidate pipeline with the Region Talent Advisor Specialist.

Staff, schedule, train, develop staff, and manage discipline and performance appraisals for the store.

Celebrate store successes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Oversee Administrative Coordinator, Head Cashiers, Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, and In‑Store Shoppers.

Lead front‑end operations, ensuring department records and cash handling/accounting comply with legal and company policies.

Handle team member concerns and conflict through proactive discussion.

Facilitate career development conversations and support internal movement.

Communicate sales promotion information to the cashier team.

Provide constructive feedback and direction for effective communication and collaboration.

Ensure proper posting of store signage (compliance, sales event, holiday, and door signage).

Execute company programs to maintain store profitability and customer satisfaction while meeting safety, labeling, health, and weight standards.

Keep department and work areas clean, sanitized, and organized.

Assist with ordering, receiving, unloading, breaking down, stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise, ensuring code dates are respected.

Build and maintain displays on the sales floor according to company programs and standards.

Verify accurate labeling and pricing, oversee price changes, and keep sale prices current.

Communicate temperature failures of cases, shelves, and storage areas to the Store Manager.

Respond to emergencies, crises, equipment failures, and resolve any resulting issues.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least 21 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business management, marketing, retail, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.

Demonstrated success leading total store operations with integrity, including profit and loss, safety, sanitation, staffing, disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, performance appraisals, meeting deadlines, inventory management, shrink control, sales promotions, and merchandising.

Professional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, analytical ability, and solution‑focused decisiveness.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and human resources software.

Flexibility to work a schedule that changes based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Capability to lift 60 pounds between 15 and 70 inches above the ground, with occasional heavier lifts required.

Ability to push and pull merchandise racks and U‑boats; force required ranges from 80 to 100 pounds.

Will stand on hard surfaces continuously, walk up to 2 miles, reach vertically for upper levels, and transfer items horizontally.

Wearing personal protective equipment, including non‑slip, closed‑toe shoes, long pants, and gloves (latex or cut‑resistant).

Experience using phones, computers, ovens, freezers, meat and cheese cutters, grinders, scales, mixers, box cutters, scanners, cash registers, carts, and pallet jacks.
