Job Title

Logistics Driver
Sign‑On Bonus

Up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus for new hires, paid in two equal installments at 90 and 180 days of employment.
Job Summary

The Logistics Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of industrial and commercial parts and construction equipment to customer locations and Carter Machinery branches over established routes. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of CDL driving experience, including heavy‑haul and tractor/lowboy driving; a valid CDL‑A license is required; a high‑school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities

Safe, efficient transport of equipment; route planning; truck inspections; cargo securing; basic truck maintenance; forklift operation; professional customer interactions; handling tight deadlines; operating and demonstrating construction and generator equipment; maintaining customer experience; supporting The Carter Way core values.
Requirements

Thorough knowledge of DOT and company safety standards and regulations.
Excellent driving record.
Capable of operating a 5- or 6‑axle truck.
Must conduct inspections of truck to ensure it is in good working order.
Capable of securing cargo for transport using chains and/or binders to meet local, state, and federal regulations.
Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic truck maintenance tasks.
Professional interaction with customers and all levels of personnel within the organization; ability to understand and explain delivery issues.
Ability to perform in situations requiring speed and tight deadlines.
Knowledge of rental, construction, and generator equipment; ability to operate, demonstrate, and instruct proper equipment operation.
Excellent customer service skills.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Availability to work additional hours as required by job and customer demand.

Physical Requirements

Frequently sit for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Required visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation

Starting compensation range: $28.53–$41.32 per hour.
Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. Total compensation may include participation in performance‑based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non‑discretionary plans.
