Job Title
Project Manager – Mission Critical Data Center Construction
Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of mission critical data center construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and forecasts
Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners to ensure alignment and execution
Oversee procurement, subcontractor selection, and contract administration
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, delays, and cost impacts
Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
Ensure quality control standards are met, particularly for mission critical systems (MEP, redundancy, commissioning)
Support commissioning and turnover processes for data center facilities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management, with preference for mission critical or data center projects
Strong understanding of MEP systems, critical infrastructure, and commissioning processes
Proven ability to manage complex, fast-paced projects with multiple stakeholders
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects
Knowledge of redundancy standards (Tier I–IV) and mission critical design principles
OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training
PMP or similar project management certification
Projects located across the United States; travel and/or relocation may be required
Combination of office and on-site construction environments
Ability to work in active construction sites with varying conditions
Leadership and team management
