Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Piping & Mechanical QA/QC Inspector
to support field execution and quality oversight for a large EPC-managed project. This role focuses on verifying that piping and mechanical construction activities meet all design, specification, and contractual quality requirements. The inspector will work closely with onsite management to track quality issues, review contractor documentation, and support multiple work fronts simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Provide active field oversight to confirm piping and mechanical construction complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements
Support the onsite manager with
issuing, tracking, and closing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Confirm quality reports are properly completed, reviewed, and approved
Review and validate
contractor-submitted quality packages and system turnover documentation
Confirm contractor adherence to
approved welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
Review and validate
Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
results and reports, including:
Radiographic Testing (RT)
Phased Array UT
Shear Wave UT
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
Witness piping and mechanical system testing
Participate in system walkdowns and punch identification
Verify system restoration following testing activities
Support multiple work packages and contractors concurrently in a fast-paced field environment
Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of QA/QC experience
supporting
EPC and/or Owner-side projects
Strong background in
piping and mechanical construction , including welding and testing
In-depth knowledge of NDE methods and quality documentation review
Strong attention to detail with the ability to track and close quality issues effectivelyAbility to work independently while coordinating closely with site management and contractors
