Job Description
Provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates advanced skills in the delivery of physical examinations, performing complex medical testing, providing physician interpretations of results, consulting with physicians, and implementing treatment plans; administers medications and injections as needed.

Ensures clinic flow runs smoothly; works closely with assigned scheduler to ensure referrals, follow‑up appointments, and diagnostic tests are scheduled accordingly.

Triages patient calls and works closely with the call center team.

Follows up on diagnostic tests and labs and ensures they are reported to the medical provider.

Refers patients as needed to appropriate specialists, consults and collaborates with other health‑care team members, schedules follow‑up and procedure appointments, and conducts weekly check‑ups.

Educates patients and family members.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Supports the mission, vision, and patient promise throughout all interactions.

Communicates effectively, both written and verbally.

Analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.

Meets all training and competency requirements.

Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.

Experience
Three (3) years of professional nursing experience is required.

Licenses/Certifications
Current Texas RN license required; CPR required.
