Job Description
The Clinical Mental Health Professional utilizes clinical expertise to perform psychosocial assessments, develop and implement plans of care appropriate for the care team, assess crisis situations to appropriately provide needed resources and or referrals for the patient, and to provide family and individual treatment as indicated. This position works collaboratively with patients, patient's significant other, families, healthcare providers, insurers, community resources, and all other involved parties. This position provides care appropriate to the established plan of care in the assigned patient population.

Location: Primary Children’s Behavioral Health Hospital in Taylorsville, Utah
Essential Functions
Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, modifying care plan(s) to reflect changes in patient status
Refers patients to other services to improve their well‑being (community services, treatment programs, support groups, psychiatrists, or other mental health providers)
Works with the multi‑disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan to provide further care, services, and referrals, ensuring continuity of care
Organizes and prioritizes daily work by assessing new, current, and discharging patient needs in area(s) of responsibility
Performs behavioral health consultation for patients and caregivers; conducts psychosocial assessments; provides supportive, crisis bereavement and other behavioral health interventions as necessary
Educates, communicates, and coordinates with multiple patient care teams and outside agencies to ensure the patient receives quality care, a timely discharge, and to identify and resolve delays and issues. Credentialing through medical staff office and peer review requirements may apply if working in the behavioral health setting
May provide support and debriefing, in conjunction with the Employee Assistance Program, for staff members following adverse events
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution
Current State Licensure as LCSW or LMFT, or CMHC
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills (email, word processing)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with patients, families, and treatment teams
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergency situations
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy; includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; bending, lifting, and carrying supplies and equipment of varying weights up to and including heavy items
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment; includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items; often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms
May be required to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time

Scheduled Weekly Hours
40 hours per week.
Hourly Rate
$35.25 – $54.39 (depending on experience)
