Overview
An acute care hospital in

Dulles, Virginia

is seeking an experienced

Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health

to lead day-to-day nursing operations within an inpatient behavioral health unit.

This leadership role is responsible for staff oversight, patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced acute care behavioral health environment.

Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the Behavioral Health Nursing Department

Lead and support Charge Nurses and House Supervisors to ensure safe, effective care delivery

Maintain appropriate staffing, scheduling, and productivity aligned with patient acuity

Promote a culture of patient safety, therapeutic care, and staff accountability

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies

Support staff development, coaching, and performance management

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and unit performance

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and operational planning

Qualifications
Required:

BSN required

Active RN license (Virginia or compact state)

Minimum

2 years of leadership experience

as a Nursing Manager, Supervisor, or Clinical Team Lead

Behavioral Health experience in an acute care setting

BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire)

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification (required within 30 days of hire)

Preferred:

Prior experience managing inpatient behavioral health units

Strong background in staff leadership, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance
