Schedule:
Full-Time (36 Hours/Week), Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Shift:
Days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3x12 Hour Shifts/Week)

About Our Unit
Join our fast‑paced 23‑bed surgical unit, caring for post‑operative patients who do not require telemetry. Our team specializes in hip and knee replacements, spine and orthopedic procedures, bariatrics, hysterectomies, general surgeries, and trauma cases. As a Center of Excellence for Orthopedics and Bariatrics, we offer a strong rapid recovery program—many joint replacement patients return home the day after surgery. This is a great opportunity to build your skills on a high‑performing, patient‑centered team.
What You’ll Do
Perform routine tasks such as measuring and recording vital signs, collecting and labeling specimens including blood draws, and performing venipuncture and chemsticks.
Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by the RN.
Provide compassionate, hands‑on personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and comfort.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support seamless care delivery.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Education/Experience Required
Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles may vary: Patient Care Technician (PCT), Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)).
Enrollment in a nursing program with completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license.
Medical Assistant program (with or without experience).
At least one (1) year of experience in a Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Tech, or Patient Assistant Tech, or similar job role.
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies, and equipment.
Prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of patients, supplies, and equipment.
Works in patient care area environments, which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, and hazardous gases.
