Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Job Type: Full Time, Nights (Schedule: 3x12, Various - Weekends May Vary)
Reports to: Senior Behavioral Health Director
FLSA: Non‑Exempt
Position Overview
Under the supervision of nursing staff, the BHT provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Essential Functions
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
Observes and records patient behavior and activities; reports changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
Non‑Essential Functions
Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.
Role Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
CNA license (preferred).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days of hire.
Handle With Care (HWC) certification required within 45 days of hire.
Desired Skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
