
Student Worker: Library (El Dorado)

Responsibilities
As an employee of Butler Community College Libraries and Archives, student workers play an important role in connecting patrons to library materials and services through the circulation desk and Library Latté, the L.W. Nixon Library’s coffee and boba bar. The student worker’s primary responsibilities include administrative assistance, providing access to library materials and services through circulation and reference help, collections and shelf maintenance, running the Library Latté under the supervision of professional library staff, and providing general support as needed.
Looking for someone that can work over the summer and will also be able to stay with us through the fall. Hours for the summer are between 8 am and 5 pm. Times can be flexible.
Compensation & Hours
Salary: $9.00 per hour.
Hours: Summer shift between 8 am and 5 pm, with flexible timing. Part‑time position (hours per week unspecified).
Qualifications
The applicant may be requested to authorize the College to procure a consumer report(s) for employment purposes.

Detail‑oriented and possess good analytical skills
Can work independently and in group settings
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have previous customer service and/or food service experience
Have strong interpersonal skills such as courtesy, conflict resolution, and self‑awareness
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with and without direct supervision
Able to reach, bend, stoop, lift, and push up to 30 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
Required experience and qualifications:
Currently enrolled in at least one credit hour for the upcoming semester
Federal work study eligibility is preferred, but not required
High proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English
