Overview
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Education Preferred:

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Experience Preferred:

One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience as defined by the clinic New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Works well as a member of a team; willing to collaborate with all members of the care team

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Customer service orientation

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Flexible and positive attitudeAttention to detail and accuracy

Self-directed and able to perform tasks that are in scope of practice independently with minimal oversight

Certification

Must actively maintain MA certification.

Caregivers must actively maintain their certification, or they will be transitioned to the Medical Assistant title.

Caregivers can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.

Physical Requirements

Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
