The expected hiring range for this position is: $20.00-$35.00. Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

About the Role:
The Cosmic Frontier Division at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (known as Fermilab) seeks highly qualified candidates for a Graduate Research Assistant (on-call) focusing on the calibration of a low threshold dark matter detector for the SuperCDMS experiment. This program aims to increase the representation of systematically excluded groups in scientific research and the engineering workforce.
What your day-to-day as a Graduate Research Assistant at Fermilab will look like:
Operate a cryogenic test stand in an underground laboratory
Tune and commission a mult-detector scattering experiment
Analyze data from a SuperCDMS HV detector and plastic scintillator array
Skills and Attributes for Success:
currently studying or recently graduated with physics, mathematics, or computer science at a four-year university.
eligible to work in the United States.
Applicable Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Experience with python
Familiarity with operation of a dilution refrigerator
Familiarity with dark matter search with the SuperCDMS technology
Ability to perform research both and an individual and in small team setting
Job Details:
Program dates: 14 weeks from date of hire
Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.
