Position Overview
Adjunct Government Professor: This position will have primary responsibility for instructing face‑to‑face lecture classes in Government following the academic standards of Grayson College. This position works to ensure that students reach learning outcomes.

The salary for this position is $700 per credit hour.

Responsibilities

Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester (75% of time).

Work as a team member in the Social Sciences Department; comply with all faculty responsibilities as outlined in college policies and procedures (10% of time).

Contribute to campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements (10% of time).

Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean or Department Chair (5% of time).

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher with 18 hours of graduate courses in Government from an accredited college or university.

Previous successful experience teaching in the area of Government at the university or community college level; professional experience may be held as equivalent.

Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.

Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.

Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.

Excellent computer and multi‑media skills.
