About the Role
Our Outpatient Clinic in Haverhill, MA is excited to offer Clinical Internship Opportunities for Fall 2026! The mission of the Clinical Internship program at Arbour is to provide high quality training and supervision to students in the role and responsibilities of a counselor/therapist while functioning in a multi‑level, multi‑faced and multidisciplinary Behavioral Healthcare System. Interns will gain exposure to individual, group, couples, family therapy, medication evaluation & management, school‑based treatment, and elder services.

Consistent review and feedback of record‑keeping skills documented on the supervision form
Frequent review of the goals and objectives identified by students on their internship contract
Comprehensive supervision and debriefing experience
Opportunities to develop knowledge of DSM‑5 diagnostics, boundaries, confidentiality laws, and organizational policies
Preparation for state licensure and national accreditation
Quality documentation skills and treatment planning experience
Essential Responsibilities
Demonstrate understanding of DSM‑5 diagnoses for mental health and substance use disorders
Understand the role of a counselor/therapist, including appropriate boundaries and consultation processes
Identify benefits of quality supervision, debriefing, and licensure
Submit quality documentation that identifies medical necessity, level of care, and treatment progress
Meet academic program requirements
Understand multidisciplinary team approach and roles across departments
Apply federal and state privacy laws (HIPAA, 42CFR Part 2) in developing policies and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and currently in the second year of a Master’s Level MHC program for a license‑eligible degree
Ability to complete internship through a full academic year
Citizenship/work documentation that allows employment
Pass a CORI and drug test and other pre‑employment requirements
