Job Overview
Seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Hartford, Connecticut. The role supports complex vascular and non‑vascular procedures in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity IR lab.

Required Qualifications

One year recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist

Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification per state regulations

Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Valid Radiologic Technologist license in the state of Connecticut

PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification

Other relevant certifications or licenses

Essential Work Functions

Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety

Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures

Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field

Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details

Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions

Ensure appropriate radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self

Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures

Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guidewires, and contrast agents

Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care

Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols

Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures

Perform additional duties as assigned to support IR lab operations

Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Ability to read and follow written instructions, understand verbal instructions, and proficient PC skills

Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend, and maintain posture

Professionalism and ability to work with diverse personnel

Fine motor control for instrument manipulation during procedures

Ability to cope with frequent public interaction, manage deadlines, work under supervision when needed, and maintain focus on detail

Good visual acuity and effective communication
