Job Summary

Responsibilities
Know and ensure compliance with Residents Rights and nursing services personnel compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
Monitor Nursing Services to meet resident rights and needs.
Review and promptly report complaints and grievances to the Director of Nursing or Administrator, maintaining written records.
Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments and written care plans for each resident, ensuring plans are followed.
Encourage residents and families to participate in care plan development and review.
Review nurses’ notes, monitor residents, and ensure care plans are followed.
Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Director of Nursing Services; ensure adequate inventory control procedures.
Inspect medications, supplies, and equipment to maintain adequate levels and functionality.
Develop and implement safe operating procedures for nursing services equipment.
Attend and participate in facility committees and meetings; provide written and oral reports.
Evaluate and implement recommendations pertaining to nursing services.
Monitor nursing personnel for safety standards, fire and disaster, infection control, and other departmental policies.
Ensure nursing services personnel follow infection control procedures, especially during isolation precautions.
Develop and maintain procedures for reporting hazardous conditions or equipment.
Ensure cleanliness of nursing services work areas, stations, preparation rooms, treatment areas, and resident rooms.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse in good standing, meeting all applicable federal and state licensing requirements.
Minimum age of 18 years.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in legible and understandable English.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, including procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long‑term care.
Positive attitude toward the elderly and sick.
Knowledge of care planning and assessment.
Prior experience working in a nursing home.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Capacity to remain calm under stress.
