Hours
Part Time, Benefit Eligible – 1400-2230 – Evenings
Summary
Join Parkview Health Lab Team. Eligible for $2000 Sign on Bonus! Due to the comprehensive training required for this role, seasonal or short-term employment is not offered.
Responsibilities
Maintain excellent customer service to patients and laboratory customers.
Work accurately and quickly performing a variety of duties within the clinical laboratory as required by specific assignments.
Communicate clearly and effectively, responding to phone requests from customers and coworkers.
Ensure pre-analytical duties of specimen collection, order entry, and specimen processing are performed accurately, following all identification and labeling policies.
Apply critical thinking to identify general specimen problems and resolve or direct them to the appropriate individual.
Prepare specimens for referral to other laboratories.
Inventory, order, and stock lab supplies.
Prepare supplies for clients and print patient reports for delivery by mail or courier.
Maintain department equipment, utilize computer systems, and document information as needed.
Perform waived laboratory testing, following laboratory procedures for test performance, quality control, reagent preparation, and instrument maintenance.
Follow all laboratory policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with a GED.
Complete Laboratory Support Services and Lab Assistant classes within the first year of employment.
Work rotating weekend/holiday schedules as needed.
Lift 40 pounds.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Meet all training requirements within the first six months.
Have visual acuity and color discrimination.
