Job Summary

Position: Speech‑Language Pathologist. Salary range: $38.83 – $50.47 per hour. Placement within the range depends on experience and internal equity. The role is subject to union rules if applicable.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the four NM values: teamwork, patient first, integrity, and excellence.
Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor toward patients and colleagues.
Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
Use service‑recovery skills to resolve problems or service breakdowns.
Assume primary responsibility for patient plans of care and collaborate consistently with treating Speech Therapy Assistants.
Contribute to teamwork across departments and communicate effectively.
Use unit resources efficiently.
Manage work schedule, complete tasks, and meet deadlines.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑reduction efforts.
Apply creative problem solving to adapt treatment to special circumstances.
Select appropriate evaluations and treatment modalities, and perform re‑evaluations per guidelines.
Adhere to department policies for evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries; document in EMR.
Prepare daily notes reflecting patient response and progress; meet regulatory documentation requirements.
Provide educational materials suited to patient comprehension and motivation.
Participate in committees, departmental projects, and special projects aligned with clinical expertise.
Develop professional relationships with healthcare team members.
Create a respectful communication culture through listening and timely acknowledgment.
Accept constructive feedback and apply changes promptly.
Complete non‑patient care tasks within established timelines.
Contribute to departmental educational efforts such as in‑services and new hire orientation.
Mentor or host student clinical or observation programs.
Maintain productivity standards and complete required education and training.
Show willingness to flex schedule or assignment to meet care needs and meetings.
Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Speech Pathologist License in the State of Illinois.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred

Current certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech‑Language Pathology or eligibility after completing the clinical fellowship year.
