CICU Overview
Our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is an 8-bed high acuity unit that provides complex monitoring and treatment of adult cardiac patients. CICU receives patients from the Cath Lab, ED, and Acute Care areas that require specialized cardiac care. Nurses must exhibit high levels of professional competency. Then nurses work to collaborate with all disciplines of the care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Our team is dedicated to making our patient’s experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe and secure environment.
Education Required
Associate degree in nursing
Certifications Required
AHA ACLS
AHA BLS
AHA NICU
OR RED CROSS
Certifications Preferred
PALS – If working in pediatric unit
Licenses Required
Registered Nurse State of Alabama or compact license (No Temp Licenses accepted)
Nursys
Experience Required
2 years experience; however, will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license, and must have 1 year of recent experience in the field of specialty.
