Job Summary
CASES seeks a compassionate, culturally competent Reentry Therapist to provide trauma‑informed, evidence‑based care to adults affected by the criminal legal system. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Therapist will conduct assessments, develop recovery‑focused treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy. The role emphasizes integrated, person‑centered care and collaboration with clinical and justice system partners, including psychiatrists, case managers, peer specialists, and justice system personnel.
Shift Hours
Full‑time, Monday–Friday; 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 11:00 PM–7:00 PM.
Salary
$72,100 per year.
Location
4 West 125th Street, New York, N.Y. 10027.
Workplace Flexibility
Hybrid – one full remote day per week after a 90‑day introductory period.
What You Will Be Doing
Providing individual and group therapy in a mental health outpatient treatment and recovery services setting.
Conducting screenings and assessments using evidence‑based tools for depression, trauma, substance use, and risk.
Utilizing risk management protocols for violence, suicide, and other risks.
Developing person‑ and family‑centered, recovery‑oriented treatment plans and reviewing them in collaboration with clients, collaterals, and consented stakeholders.
Coordinating with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, peers, case managers, and administrative staff.
Applying best evidence‑based approaches consistent with CASES’ organizational culture and the impact of incarceration on treatment engagement.
Maintaining timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in accordance with CASES policies, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations, and federal laws.
Reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to appropriate facilities staff or supervisors to maintain a safe work environment.
What We Are Looking For
Current New York State LCSW, LMSW, or LMHC license.
Strong passion for working with individuals impacted by the criminal legal system.
At least two years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness or substance use disorder.
Demonstrated experience providing treatment to diverse adults, including those with serious mental illness, functional impairments, and psychosocial needs such as homelessness, poverty, or unemployment.
Preferred Skills
Bilingual – Spanish.
