Maximum = $53,262.97
Summary
The Clinical Pastoral Education Resident provides pastoral care to a broad range of patients and families, performing crisis intervention and serving in a group/therapeutic context. The Resident commits to the Clinical Pastoral Education Program for a minimum of one year.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate effective use of the pastoral care process in providing culturally, religiously, age- and developmentally appropriate care including appropriate prayer.
Comply with ethical standards of YRMC and the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
Provide for specific needs of individual faith groups by fostering an interfaith approach, administering sacraments, performing religious rites or arranging for appropriate religious leaders.
Apply creative and innovative decision making to facilitate patient well-being and autonomy, integrating hospital policies, procedures, and pastoral care standards.
Plan, organize, direct and schedule educational and religious programs and services for patients, families, hospital employees, medical staff, and the community.
Participate in the Clinical Pastoral Education program, meeting ACPE standards, writing and negotiating a learning contract, attending scheduled meetings, submitting written unit evaluations, presenting specified pastoral visits for supervision, and consulting with ACPE supervisor regarding growth.
Assist in preparing departmental reports by compiling statistics and other pertinent information.
Collaborate with the Donor Network of Arizona, YRMC Department of Pathology, Yuma County Medical Examiner, and mortuaries to coordinate issues surrounding patient death.
Document each patient visit in a Progress Note in the patient chart or CareTrac by dictation; follow charting guidelines as outlined in The Discipline for Pastoral Care Giving.
Other duties as assigned.
