Position Overview
The position requires a state phlebotomy license. (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV).
Phlebotomist II
– San Jose, CA; Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with rotational weekends.
Pay range:
$26.35 - $31.40 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
Administer oral solutions according to training.
Research test/client information and confirm all orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
Navigate a computer and enter data accurately to be successful in this role.
Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test orders.
Perform non‑patient facing duties such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data when required.
Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner according to required frequencies (maintenance logs, temperature logs, etc.).
Complete online and in‑person training courses within required timelines.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Flexible and available to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred. California, Nevada, and Washington require certification.
The position requires effective communication in English.
