Position Overview
JASPER is seeking a skilled Welder to join our Indiana Tool & Die (ITD) Division. In this role, you will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing metal components used in various tooling and machinery applications. This position requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure all work meets exact specifications.
The ideal candidate has foundational welding experience and takes pride in producing high-quality, accurate work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Schedule
Monday – Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to fabricate and repair parts to specification
Perform welding using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and other applicable methods
Operate welding equipment, drill presses, saws, grinders, and other hand and power tools
Measure and verify dimensions using precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality
Repair components by filling gaps, correcting defects, and shaping metal as needed
Adjust welding equipment settings based on material type and project requirements
Assist with cutting, fitting, and installing tooling or large components using hoists when necessary
Perform basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment and tools
Maintain a clean and organized workspace at the end of each shift
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications
Basic prior welding experience required
Ability to pass welding qualifications in:
SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
Brazing and soldering
Proficient in reading and interpreting CAD drawings and sketches
Strong understanding of metal types, sizes, and material properties
Experience using measuring tools (tape measures, squares, etc.) and shop equipment (grinders, bandsaws, etc.)
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions)
Ability to safely operate torches for heating and cutting
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
Frequent use of hands for operating tools and equipment
Occasional bending, stooping, and overhead reaching
