Mesilla Valley Hospital has been in operation since 1987, serving those in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona. MVH is the leader in providing quality mental health and addiction treatment services. Our commitment to care includes developing integrated delivery systems through partnerships with medical surgical hospitals, community mental health centers, educational institutions, managed care organizations, local health professionals and agencies.

Mesilla Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team:

A Registered Nurse is responsible for implementation of the nursing process in all aspects of patient care for all patient populations including geropsych, chemically dependent adults, adult psych, adolescents and children. Assures a comprehensive approach to patient care by applying appropriate theories to psychiatric nursing practice for all patients.

Qualifications
The Essential functions for the Registered Nurse include the following:

Demonstrates understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, religious and psychosocial needs of patients across the life span

Identifies, implements and documents patient/family teaching

Assist in providing a safe, therapeutic environment

Demonstrates knowledge of Nursing Department philosophy, and assumes responsibility for maintaining Standards of Nursing Practice and Standards of Care for all patients

Works without direct supervision, but seeks supervision from immediate supervisor for complex issues that arise.

The following are the job requirements for the Registered Nurse RN position:

Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing required.

A minimum of one year experience preferred.

Currently licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing by the State Board of Nursing in New Mexico (or a compact state license that includes the State of New Mexico).
