Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in the Freestanding Emergency Room, collaborating with medical providers and other team members. The RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling the organization’s vision and mission to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.

Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.

Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.

Qualifications

Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).

TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire date. (ENPC is only required for initial certification time and is not required for renewal.)

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

Two or more years of Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience.

Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per month.

Must be willing to float between HCA HealthONE Rose Emergency Room campuses—Main ER, Central Park Freestanding ER, Sloan's Lake Freestanding ER.
