Responsibilities
Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment interventions.
Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients’ strength, mobility, and function.
Provide training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, documenting results of the training.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.
Support individuals’ plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the multi‑disciplinary team members as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program.
Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice.
Current Live CPR Certification.
Two‑step TB skin test required.
Proof of Auto Insurance.
Knowledge of evidence‑based therapy interventions.
Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics and/or home health.
One year of experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Moving, lifting, or transferring patients which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods.
Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning.
A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify the employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
