Responsibilities
Arrowhead Behavioral Health is looking for an outstanding Recreation Therapist to join our team Per Diem!

Recreation Therapists create an exciting atmosphere for our patients to learn and develop new skills. The recreation therapist plans, organizes, and directs medically approved recreation programs for hospital patients to assist patients in developing interpersonal relationships, socializing effectively, and developing coping skills and stress management skills. The Recreation Therapist adapts the leisure activity program content in relation to the patients’ capabilities, needs and interests.

Arrowhead Behavioral Health is a 48-bed psychiatric hospital located in Maumee, Ohio serving adult patients 18 years of age and older that need mental health and chemical dependency services. Inpatient offerings include treatment for drug and alcohol withdrawal management and stabilization as well as mental health crisis management. Our outpatient services extend the continuum of care to include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs which allow patients to develop and utilize proper coping mechanisms to help establish a foundation for life. Additionally, we offer a Relapse Prevention Program along with a Medication Administration Program to support patients in maintaining lifelong sobriety.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy with CTRS.

Previous experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility preferred.

This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Professional demeanor and appearance required.
