Engineering Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Engineering Administrative Assistant to support our design engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills who also has experience or interest in technical drawings and engineering systems.
Position Overview
The Engineering Administrative Assistant provides specialized clerical and project support to the engineering team. This role involves managing technical documentation, processing engineering changes, and supporting cross-functional communication between engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review, understand, and document Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) from cross-functional teams
Process and track ECRs and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Communicate engineering changes effectively to cross functional team
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to understand component routing through the production process
Structure for production routing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the Plex ERP system
Review and manage engineering drawings and documentation
Make occasional revisions to drawings using AutoCAD
Support the sourcing team by locating and providing required drawings
Maintain organized engineering records, including drawings, reports, and technical files (electronic and physical)
Qualifications
Current engineering students are encouraged to apply
Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings
Experience with AutoCAD required; experience with Creo Parametric or other 3D CAD software is a plus
Experience with Plex ERP system preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong organizational, communication, prioritization and multitasking skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Education & Experience
High school diploma required
Associate's degree in a business or technical field preferred
Current part-time engineering students are encouraged to apply
At least 1 year of related experience or in lieu experience knowledge gained through pursuit or obtaining an engineering degree.
