Finishing Supervisor 2nd Shift

General Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the Finishing Department during the appointed shift.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the health and safety of all team members.

Train, lead, and direct all finishing team members on the respective shift.

Complete timely reviews of all team members.

Follow production requirements and shipping schedules to ensure timely completion of proper parts.

Communicate timely with all managers and supervisors.

Administer the computerized time and attendance system.

Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company’s policies, procedures, and handbook practices.

Assist maintenance in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment problems and performing preventative maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

Proven communication and training skills.

Proficient knowledge of PC software applications, including Word, Excel, and mainframe software (e.g., Odyssey).

Ability to work in, encourage, and facilitate a team environment and change when necessary.

Ability to coordinate, organize, and direct multiple positions within the department simultaneously.

Knowledge of blast‑related equipment and cell operations.

Knowledge of cast defects and related causes.

Working Conditions

The Finishing Supervisor will reside in the office and on the production floor and must adhere to plant conditions.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and stand on the production floor 50% of the time.

Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.

This position requires operation of a computer and other machinery in the plant.

Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and others in person and by telephone.

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate degree in a technical or business discipline preferred.

3 – 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

3 – 5 years of experience in a Finishing Department preferred.
