Base pay rate starts at $38.00 per hour
Shift: Full time, Day Shift
Location: 1 Silver Line Drive, North Brunswick, NJ 08902
Duties and Responsibilities
The CDL A Truck Driver will be expected to transport and deliver our windows and doors to dealers, distribution centers, and construction job sites using a tractor‑trailer. The role requires a range of skills, from safe driving and customer service to hands‑on delivery. This is a hands‑on delivery driving position that will be regional during the week, with some Saturdays possibly required.
Safely assist in the loading and unloading of the product at the customer’s location or for returns. (Driver is required to handle windows and doors.)
Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of windows and doors of varying weights.
Safely drive the truck to destinations in accordance with federal regulations.
Apply commercial driving knowledge and maneuver the vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas.
Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver logs, ELD, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required documentation.
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; if unable to answer, direct the customer to the appropriate contact.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record.
Two years of commercial truck driving experience (equivalent military DD214 experience is acceptable).
Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain electronic logs, and use safety control devices.
Ability to follow instructions via on‑board computer system, phone, and e‑mail.
Working knowledge of Zebra phones and Flex iPod or equivalent scanning devices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work effectively with people in a fast‑paced environment.
Travel as required.
