
Material Program Manager

Material Program Manager (MPM) – ASDS portfolio, SSPS business unit, Tucson, Arizona. The MPM bridges Supply Chain and Program teams, managing materials from suppliers to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets. They lead projects, manage budgets, resolve issues, and ensure successful execution of supplier engagement strategies.
What You Will Do
Apply knowledge of MRP planning systems (SAP, Oracle, other ERP systems).
Work closely with program and partner functions to enable successful supplier management and execution.
Communicate and translate SRP requirements to suppliers, supporting engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk.
Prepare and present status slides and files during tag‑ups, program meetings, and reviews.
Participate in weekly supplier engagements to meet performance expectations.
Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans, including mitigation and participation in program/engineering reviews, change boards, and CN approvals.
Maintain and assess the integrity of the MRP environment, balancing supply and demand to support schedule execution.
Facilitate resolution of product non‑conformances and necessary product/process changes with suppliers and Engineering/Quality.
Own the supplier and finance management process (risk/opportunity, line of balance, metrics, material sales forecasts).
Assist procurement with RFP/RFQ requests.
Address urgent supply chain tasks (PO follow‑up, SSOW, purchase requisition integrity).
Travel to suppliers as needed.
Be MPM Level 4 certified or achieve certification within 12 months.
Qualifications You Must Have
University degree or equivalent experience with minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 5 years.
Experience with material requirements planning (MRP) processes.
Minimum 4 years in a supply‑chain role.
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Secret).
Qualifications We Prefer
Supply chain experience in the defense industry.
Experience as a Cost Account Manager for material estimates at completion (EACs) and material forecasting.
Experience with supply‑chain planning tools such as SAP, Power BI, Kinaxis RapidResponse.
Proficiency in creating pivot tables in Microsoft Excel.
