Location: McLane Children's Hospital, Temple, TX.

Schedule: FT Nights Position (12 hour shifts)

Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role

Perform and direct respiratory care services such as oxygen and aerosol therapy, working with the attending physician and care team. Administer care with quality and excellence, following procedures, and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.

Adhere to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media guidelines.

Actively and professionally with peers and patients to maintain a positive work environment and achieve optimal outcomes.

Embrace autonomy to grow and enhance skills, ensuring professional and technical requirements are met.

Focus on continuous quality improvement across all aspects of clinical care, identifying and sharing opportunities to improve patient care.

Key Success Factors

General knowledge of respiratory care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.

Ability to read, write, and follow flowchart protocols as appropriate.

Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.

General computer skills, including data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand‑held scanning, and email.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.

Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.

Certification / License / Registration

Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as an RCP.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT): RRT from the National Board Respiratory Care.
