Job Summary
The Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery is seeking a professional, well-organized team player to fill the position of Clinical Research Coordinator.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include overseeing research and administrative procedures, ensuring compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures including patient consent (when applicable), performing data acquisition and entry for prospective urology projects, and other research-related tasks. Involvement is expected to be 100% FTE.

Primary duties include designing, implementing and directing research projects, screening potential research participants, coordinating patient follow-up for enrolled subjects, obtaining informed consent/assent from research subjects and/or parents/guardians, developing and implementing research quality control procedures including data collection and data management tools (case report forms, databases, data entry and cleaning systems), ensuring accuracy and validity of data entered, assisting in creation, editing, and submission of IRB protocols, and participating in grant submissions and reporting in consultation with investigators and clinical trials officers.

The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and analytical skills and the ability to express good judgment in decision making as a leader. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and electronic database is desirable. The individual should be self‑initiated and able to work independently yet also effectively as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a health sciences or related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with two years professional research experience and completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire required. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations; understanding of research procedures; and ability to function independently is preferred.

Departments may require IRB CITI Course or IATA DGR training within a specified timeframe. Departments may prefer a nursing degree for this position, which requires the incumbent to have two years related experience and possess a nationally recognized research compliance certification.
