Consistent with our Leadership Accountabilities, the Process Advocate is accountable to help establish and maintain process recipes for operating lines to safely produce products that consistently meet codes, specifications, and customer requirements at the lowest cost. The Process Advocate is accountable to continuously improve the glass making process to eliminate waste, improve safety, reduce cost, increase capacity and productivity, and improve the product.

Reports to : The Process Advocate is an hourly position reporting to the Plant Technical Leader.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows all Owens Corning safety policies and procedures.

Ensuring a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is a first priority

Ensuring that all control plans, work instructions, and other procedures related to the technical operation of the production lines and packaging area ensure the safety of employees

Developing risk assessments for critical tasks

Develop, support, and maintain Production Recipe Data for line operation software

Facilitate TPM through participation in the Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar

Identifying, understanding, and teaching others the Critical Product Characteristics required to provide our customers with a quality product, including packaging.

Assisting in developing and implementing of procedures and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations

Supporting experiments or trials for new and existing products and packaging to ensure they meet our customer’s fitness for use

Conducting process audits to review Critical Product Characteristics and Critical Process Variables and implementing sustainable corrective actions for process shifts or upsets

Determining process consistency and capability (Cpk)

Implementing control charting schemes for Critical Process Variables based on ISBMS and S&T specifications

Assisting in the development and implementation of Operator Control Plans to ensure that all products meet specifications at the lowest cost

Identifying and eliminating common causes of product, packaging, and process variation (troubleshooting)

Analyzing product and process data, providing feedback and making recommendations to optimize performance

Identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices. Improvements may originate from S&T, ISBMS, or other facilities

Implementing corrective actions for issues surfaced through quality complaints and hold tags

Establishing processes for all critical tasks and audit for adherence and compliance

Partner with maintenance to resolve equipment issues

Identifying capital funding for equipment, modifications, etc.

Assisting to educating employees in the manufacturing process and process control procedures

Partnering with employees to develop and implement operator focused control plans

Partnering with Maintenance to develop and implement operational plans for equipment to ensure employee understanding and ownership using the principles of TPM

Ability to obtain Hazard Recognition Certification (HRC) with 1 year of starting position

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required

Two year Associates degree in technical related field highly preferred

Must be 18 years or older

Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or technical environment

Worked with TPM on an AM team and has lead FI projects

Basic mathematical calculations and measurements

Must maintain schedule flexibility to ensure smooth production

Pass drug screen prior to employment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Non-Rotating shifts – 8-hour

Stand for extended prolonged periods during 8-hour shift

Work overtime as needed

Meet the physical demands of the work environment
