Juntos Program Jones County Coordinator

Essential Job Duties

Serve at least 30 Jones County students and their families in the program.

The Coordinator will facilitate and lead family workshop series and family night events (at least four family nights if not facilitating Family Engagement Workshops that year). Family Nights will be focused on educational topics and centered around the families’ interests.

Hold two-to-three contact hours of 4‑H Club meetings every month after school (or during school) throughout the school year, with organizational support from 4‑H agents, volunteers, and community partners. Meetings will focus on academic success, STEM learning, career exploration, and community service.

Provide one‑on‑one monthly Success Coaching sessions to 15 enrolled youth in Juntos. Youth will be chosen through collaborative efforts with school staff, including teachers and counselors who may have recommendations.

Check in individually with Juntos staff monthly during the school year. Join 8 out of 10 monthly statewide Juntos coordinator calls/National Juntos Consortium calls. Receive at least one monitoring site visit and report from the state office to be shared with the supervisor.

Take students on field trips to colleges and other Juntos events, including the Juntos Summer Academy where youth participate in special university classes, college student panels, STEM activities, and leadership training. Students also attend local summer camps in the county offered in conjunction with Jones County 4‑H (when applicable).

Recruit, supervise, and coordinate the program’s volunteers to act as tutors or mentors during Juntos activities. Volunteers will deliver workshops about study skills, life skills, STEM learning and careers, career and college exploration, college entrance exams, college applications, financial aid, and transition to higher education.

Work with the local 4‑H Agent and school administration to ensure all volunteers have criminal background checks following Jones School District and State 4‑H procedures and are registered on 4‑H Online.

Abide by all relevant Jones School District policies, including staff conduct, student conduct, treatment of property, and discipline policy.

Build a local program Sustainability Partners Committee in the county with school, Extension, and other community leaders.

Requirements
Minimum Experience/Education : Associate’s Degree.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education : Experience working in family engagement, student engagement, and community engagement, as well as having an understanding of the local school system.

Compensation
Anticipated Hiring Range: $20 – $23 per hour.
