Patient Property Assistant
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Experience: Previous experience in security, hospitality, or healthcare administrative support preferred. Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail. Ability to remain professional and empathetic when interacting with patients and families in stressful situations. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and property tracking.
Physical: This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal hospital environment. Ability to walk across a large campus and lift up to 20 lbs.
Job Summary: The Patient Property Assistant is a critical support role within the Security Department, reporting directly to the Head of Security. This position ensures the efficient, orderly, and secure management of patient belongings across the entire healthcare campus. The coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end chain of custody, including the retrieval, documentation, secure storage, and timely delivery of personal items to patients or their authorized representatives.
