Safety Coordinator

The Opportunity

Seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator with a proven track record for success. The Safety Coordinator will provide direction, consultation and oversight for the administration and implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, policies and procedures, and assist in the development of objectives, targets, plans and procedures for regulatory compliance. The role evaluates and directs programs to minimize physical and financial exposure from potential or actual risks, including safety training requirements. The position requires extensive correspondence with the service team, sales team, customers, vendors and owners.
Responsibilities

Provide direction for aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), including regulatory compliance and worker’s compensation.
Assist in planning and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including OSHA and DOT.
Conduct safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Work with service leaders on safety meetings to discuss EHS issues, support programs and projects, and advise on safety compliance concerns and preventive actions.
Act as a safety consultant/advisor to managers and leaders.
Facilitate appropriate safety and health training for all employees, and accident prevention and investigation training for managers and supervisors.
Maintain safety files and records.
Assist supervisors in conducting accident investigations.
Manage findings from third‑party audits to corrective action and closure.
Perform additional fleet safety administration duties as assigned.
The Required Profile

3‑5 years of construction safety related experience or equivalent combination of education and related safety experience.
Safety certification (CHST, CHSO) a plus.
OSHA 500 & 510 certification highly preferred .
First Aid/CPR certified.
Moderate PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Clear driving record with a current valid license.
Excellent initiative, interpersonal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence others.

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees.
Mathematical Skills

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, percent, and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; prioritize multiple tasks with mental stamina.
Work will be performed in an office environment and occasionally in the field.
Physical Demands

The duties of this job require the use of hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel and Work Availability

The employee must be able to travel overnight 10‑25% of the time and maintain regular attendance. The employee must be available for weekends and holidays as required by management.
