
Experienced Environmental Planner, Aviation

Mead & Hunt is looking for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver who wants to build a dynamic career in aviation consultancy with a nationally recognized company. This person will lead environmental planning & sustainability projects in Mead & Hunt's national planning practice. This exciting opportunity allows for professional growth and leadership through challenging and rewarding projects for a variety of aviation related clients and services.
Responsibilities include:
Leading complex projects and teams
Executing airport environmental planning and sustainability studies
Managing client and team relationships
Seeking marketing opportunities to attract clients and obtain work
Administering contracts and profitability of assigned projects
Facilitating stakeholder, and public meetings
Coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration and other government agencies
Travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have all the following:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in planning, environmental engineering, economics, data science, or a related field from an accredited college or university
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
A minimum of seven (7) years of environmental planning and/or sustainability experience at airports of all market sizes
Leading complex planning projects, including negotiating scopes of services and requisite fee estimates, including overall responsibility for the profitability of assigned projects
Serving as client manager
Applying federal, state, and local regulations within project work
Approaching sustainability projects applying creative problem-solving to develop practical, innovative solutions
Leading research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents such as: Part 150 noise compatibility studies; aviation sustainability studies; environmental impact statements and assessments; airport master plans; aviation system plans; and other similar studies
Leading business development pursuits and project interviews
Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT) modeling experience
Mentorship of project teams and junior planning staff
In-depth knowledge of FAA (or International Civil Aviation Organization) guidance and regulations
Experience managing stakeholder engagement, including airline consultation
Active industry involvement
AICP, AIA, AAAE, CM, PE, ENV SP, or other relevant certification
