Job Description
We are seeking a psychiatrist to provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for geriatric patients within a 20-bed specialized Geriatric-Psychiatry unit.
The candidate will work collaboratively with a dedicated Clinical Coordinator/Social Worker who has extensive training in geriatric psychiatry, as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, counselors, case managers, psychiatrists, and nurse practitioners.
The position involves participation in a weekend call rotation with a ratio of 1:6 for inpatient coverage.
The psychiatrist will focus on delivering patient-centered, evidence-based interventions that address the multifaceted medical, psychiatric, and social needs of older adults. Additionally, the role includes coordinating care in alignment with system-level behavioral health leadership and resources to ensure a cohesive treatment approach.
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Possession of a New York State medical license (or eligibility)
Active DEA license
Fellowship trained in Geriatric Psychiatry
Clean malpractice and licensing history
Submission of a current NPDB Self Query Report (within the last 30 days)
Additional License Requirements
Active DEA license is implied
