Logistics Team Lead - 3rd Shift

Caterpillar is seeking a Team Lead for our 3rd shift to oversee and coordinate activities within a specific factory function such as Assembly, Logistics, and Quality. The role is based in Sanford, NC and requires working Monday‑Friday 10:00 pm – 6:00 am, with overtime as business needs require.
Shift Compensation
Starting pay: $27.11 per hour (includes 8% shift premium).
Summary pay range: $21.70 – $27.35 per hour.
Responsibilities
General knowledge of all logistics processes, standard work, quality requirements, and build requirements in the assigned work area.
Utilize various tools, including lifting devices, to perform assembly duties.
Perform related work duties as assigned.
Follow CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Meet deadlines and multitask to prioritize safety and efficiency.
Act as a contributing team member.
Train new and develop existing employees.
Serve as liaison between team members and section managers.
First point of contact for questions related to employee job functions.
Perform administrative functions and manage daily team PQVC metric boards.
Provide input on schedule/build adjustments and communicate with cross‑functional leaders.
Make independent decisions and solve problems to complete job tasks.
Communicate potential inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to perform repetitive operations.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Basic Requirements
Experience operating a forklift.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate proficiency in Glovia.
Prior experience in Logistics, Quality, and/or Assembly.
Ability to follow standard work and use standard logistics tools.
Willingness to work overtime.
Proven team development abilities.
Understanding of basic Supply Chain Principles.
ILC Ordering and Auditing experience.
Leadership experience.
Time management and excellent communication skills.
