About the Opportunity
Responsible for directing the overall administration of the State Mitigation Planning Program and making recommendations for resolution and implementations to the Resiliency Branch Chief and the State Hazard Mitigation Officer (SHMO); reviewing federal and state policy/regulatory requirements and proposing strategies for meeting requirements. Responsible for the ongoing review, monitoring and evaluation of state mitigation planning activities and making recommendations for improvement. This position also attends conferences/meetings regarding the state mitigation planning program, creates reports for management and executive staff on state mitigation planning strategies; develops work plans, staffing patterns and directs the development and implementation of the State Hazard Mitigation Plan in coordination with various local, state and federal partners.
Working Conditions
This position is located in the State Hazard Mitigation Planning Unit in Mather, CA.
Hybrid Telework:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
DMV Pull Program:
Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
Conflict of Interest (COI):
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
