This role partners cross-functionally to ensure product detail pages (PDPs) are accurate, engaging, and optimized to improve the guest experience and key business outcomes including traffic, engagement, conversion, and SEO. This role blends analytics, content strategy, and project leadership to influence how content is planned, prioritized, and delivered across categories.As a Senior Product Content Planner, you will:Content Planning & Standards* Lead the development of
content strategies, defining the appropriate mix of product data, editorial copy, imagery, size & fit, social, expert, and third-party content.* Define and implement scalable content standards that align with strategic goals and category needs.* Balance guest needs, brand standards, and operational feasibility when setting content requirements.Strategy & Analytics* Regularly analyze content performance, guest behavior, and competitive insights to inform data-driven recommendations and optimization strategies.* Establish category-level expertise by translating analytics into clear opportunities that improve PDP performance and guest experience.* Partner with analytics teams to define, track, and report on KPIs tied to content effectiveness.Cross-Functional Collaboration* Collaborate closely with internal partners including Merchandising, UX, SEO, Creative, Legal, and Technology to align on priorities and execution.* Manage relationships with external vendors and content providers to support content acquisition and performance goals.* Influence without authority by clearly communicating insights, recommendations, and tradeoffs.Project Management & Execution* Lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, setting work plans, timelines, and priorities to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.* Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and process gaps; drive solutions through structured problem-solving.* Ensure consistent execution of content strategies across categories while adapting to evolving business needs.End Goal* Deliver measurable improvements in product data quality and content depth that elevate the Target guest’s multichannel shopping experience.Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.**About You:*** Four-year college degree in business, marketing, editorial/creative, or related field (preferred)* 3–5 years of relevant experience, with digital. Merchandising or e-commerce experience strongly preferred* Strong analytical skillset with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights* Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization* Proven project management skills, including prioritization, planning, and execution* Confident decision-maker with the ability to influence and drive change* Comfortable working in ambiguity and adapting quickly to evolving priorities* Experience using analytical tools preferred (DOMO, Greenfield, Adobe Analytics)* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteThis position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
