The Hotel Engineer/Maintenance Technician ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent working conditions. This position responds promptly to maintenance requests and supports the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

What you will be doing
Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
Diagnose and repair non‑functioning machinery and equipment.
Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including:
Carpentry
Plumbing
Electrical work
Painting
HVAC maintenance
Masonry
Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and report items requiring further attention.
Maintain and update the Guest Room Preventive Maintenance Program.
Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including the location of all emergency shut‑offs.
Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Requirements:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees must be flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.
Available to work shifts of 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication skills with guests and team members
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Flexible availability
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Ability to operate heavy machinery
Licenses and certifications are a plus
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education:
Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education, apprenticeship, in‑plant training, or on‑the‑job training required.
Experience:
Previous hotel engineering experience a plus
Friendwell Managed Hotels function twenty‑four (24) hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. As a part of the hospitality industry a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times. All employees are required to project a friendly, welcoming, and positive attitude.
